BodyTite: Tighten and Lift the Skin Without Visible Scarring

BodyTite is an innovative body contouring technique using bipolar radiofrequency, used as an alternative to surgical lifting to correct moderate skin laxity. It combines skin tightening and reduction of localised fat deposits without visible scarring. This method achieves progressive skin redrapage of the abdomen, arms, thighs, or flanks, with a straightforward recovery and a rapid return to daily activities.

Drs Yaël Berdah and Marc-David Benjoar use the latest version of BodyTite, the Quantum RF25, operating on the IgniteRF platform. The QuantumRF25 probes allow larger areas to be treated more quickly and with a reduced risk of burns. They are particularly well suited to areas such as the abdomen, thighs, and arms.

How Does BodyTite Tighten the Skin Without Scarring?

BodyTite works by delivering controlled heat through bipolar radiofrequency, applied simultaneously above and below the skin. A slim cannula is inserted beneath the skin surface while an external electrode glides along the outer surface.

This thermal energy produces several complementary effects:

  • Thermal lipolysis of localised fat cells
  • Immediate tissue retraction under the effect of heat
  • Stimulation of fibroblasts, triggering renewed production of collagen and elastin

Temperature is continuously monitored by sensors integrated into the device, ensuring a uniform and safe treatment without risk of skin burns.

Who Is a Good Candidate for BodyTite?

Ideal candidates for BodyTite typically present moderate skin laxity, sometimes combined with localised excess fat. The technique is suitable for both women and men who wish to tighten the skin without visible scarring. It can be recommended following weight changes, pregnancy, or as a result of ageing, when skin elasticity naturally decreases.

However, significant skin laxity or diffuse fat excess will generally require a more conventional surgical approach, such as a body lift. The initial consultation allows the most appropriate treatment plan to be determined.

Areas Treated by BodyTite

The areas treated by BodyTite correspond to regions where the skin is prone to laxity and where targeted skin retraction is desired.

BodyTite Abdomen: Tightening the Skin of the Stomach

BodyTite of the abdomen improves skin tone following pregnancy or weight loss. It acts on residual fat and tightens the skin, without the scarring associated with a tummy tuck or abdominoplasty.

BodyTite Arms: Arm Lift Without Scarring

On the inner surface of the arms, BodyTite offers an arm lift solution without visible scarring when laxity is not too pronounced. The skin regains firmness through discreet, millimetric incisions.

BodyTite Thighs: Thigh Lift Without Visible Scarring

BodyTite of the thighs, particularly the inner thighs, targets an area where the skin is thin and delicate. It allows for a thigh lift without visible scarring while improving the skin’s irregular texture.

BodyTite Flanks: Reducing Love Handles

In the flank and love handle area, BodyTite helps redefine the body’s contours by combining fat volume reduction with skin tightening.

What Does a BodyTite Session Involve?

A BodyTite session is performed on an outpatient basis, under general anaesthesia or local anaesthesia with sedation, and lasts on average one to two hours depending on the number of areas treated.

Following precise marking of the areas to be treated, Drs Berdah and Benjoar make small millimetric incisions concealed within natural skin folds, through which a slim Quantum RF25 cannula is introduced beneath the skin.

The cannula features an internal electrode positioned at depth, paired with an external electrode placed on the skin surface. The bipolar radiofrequency simultaneously delivers thermal lipolysis, tissue coagulation, and skin tightening. The temperature is maintained at approximately 38°C at the surface and can reach around 70°C at depth across a thickness of 5 to 25 millimetres, triggering immediate skin retraction and stimulating collagen and elastin production. Continuous thermal monitoring allows the energy delivered to be adjusted in real time, minimising any risk of burns.

Drs Berdah and Benjoar may combine BodyTite with abdominal liposuction or thigh liposuction when the removal of fat deposits requires complementary skin redrapage, in order to improve the overall uniformity of the result.

Recovery After a BodyTite Session

Recovery following BodyTite is generally straightforward. Moderate swelling and bruising may appear for a few days.

A return to daily activities is possible after a short period of rest. Wearing a compression garment is recommended for approximately two weeks to support skin retraction. We also recommend lymphatic drainage massage and manual rolling sessions with a physiotherapist as soon as possible after the procedure.

What Results Can Be Expected from BodyTite?

BodyTite produces immediate skin retraction through the thermal action of radiofrequency, resulting in contraction of the subcutaneous tissues and visible skin tightening from the time of the procedure. In the months that follow, fibroblast stimulation promotes the progressive production of collagen and elastin, further improving skin firmness and quality. When weight remains stable, results can be maintained over several years.

How Much Does a BodyTite Session Cost?

The cost of a BodyTite session depends on the areas treated, their extent, and any associated procedures. As a general guide, fees range from €1,000 to €2,500 when BodyTite is combined with liposuction. A personalised quote is provided following assessment at the initial consultation.

Frequently Asked Questions about BodyTite

Does BodyTite leave scars?

The incisions are millimetric and concealed within natural skin folds. They typically become virtually invisible over time.

How long does it take to see results from BodyTite?
I

Improvement is noticeable relatively quickly, but the final result continues to develop over several months as the skin retracts and collagen production progresses.

Does BodyTite replace surgical lifting?

In cases of moderate laxity, BodyTite can serve as an effective alternative, particularly for the neck. In cases of significant laxity, surgical lifting remains the recommended approach.

Are the results of BodyTite permanent?

Fat cells destroyed during the procedure do not regenerate in the treated areas. The longevity of results depends on weight stability and the natural ageing of the skin.
