A New Plastic Surgery Department in Paris

A new plastic surgery department has recently opened within the Assistance Publique des Hôpitaux de Paris.

Since January 5, 2012, the department led by Professor Lantieri, of which I am a member, has relocated to the Georges Pompidou European Hospital, located in the 15th arrondissement of Paris.

We now have access to one of Europe’s most advanced medical platforms, enabling us to perform cutting-edge procedures in reconstructive surgery. The department includes:

• 10 conventional hospital beds, all in private rooms
• A dedicated outpatient surgery unit for same-day procedures

Focus Areas

We are actively developing programs in:

• Breast reconstruction, particularly autologous reconstruction using the DIEP free abdominal flap technique
• Face transplants, building on prior successful procedures
• Hand and upper limb transplantation, in collaboration with the hospital’s hand surgery department
• Larynx transplants, in partnership with the ENT department
