Price of breast augmentation with implants

Breast augmentation with prostheses involves the insertion of silicone gel or physiological serum implants, the price of which varies according to the model chosen and the complexity of the procedure. For breast augmentation with Motiva Round implants, through a submammary incision, the price is around €68,000. On the other hand, a more sophisticated technique, such as the placement of Motiva Ergonomix 2 implants via the axilla under endoscopic Dual Plan, can cost up to €8,000, not least because of the specific equipment used and the longer operating time.

Price of breast augmentation by lipofilling

Breast lipofilling is based on the transfer of autologous fat removed by liposuction. It enables a more natural result to be obtained, while at the same time refining certain areas of the body. The price ranges from €6,500 to €7,500, depending on the quantity of fat required and the areas from which it is taken. Unlike breast implants, this technique may require a second session to optimize volume and ensure a harmonious result.

How much does breast augmentation cost in France?

In France, prices vary according to practitioner and medical facility. Breast augmentation with implants generally costs between €6,000 and €8,000, depending on the brand of prosthesis and the technique used. Top-of-the-range, shape-memory implants are more expensive, as are procedures performed under endoscopy, which require a specific technical platform.

Breast lipofilling (what some women commonly refer to asnatural breast augmentation), which is more expensive because it is combined with liposuction, is more likely to cost between €65,00 and €9,000. The price depends on the number of areas aspirated and the volume of fat injected. Some patients may require several sessions to obtain satisfactory volume, which can increase the total cost.

Factors influencing the cost of breast augmentation

Several factors come into play in the final price of breast augmentation, beyond the simple distinction between implants and lipofilling:

• The surgeon's expertise: a recognized specialist in cosmetic breast surgery charges fees in proportion to his or her experience and reputation.
• The type of implant used: some implants offer advanced technology, such as Motiva Ergonomix 2, designed to adapt to the body's natural movements. Their cost is higher than that of more conventional models.
• Surgical technique and access route: endoscopic axillary implant placement requires special know-how and specific equipment, which influences the price.
• Breast lipofilling and the extent of liposuction: the greater the amount of fat to be transferred, the longer and more costly the procedure.
• Patients wishing to undergo a larger augmentation often need to schedule a second session.
• Surgery and hospitalization costs: anesthesia, use of the operating room and length of hospitalization all have a direct impact on the final price. An overnight stay in hospital is more expensive than an outpatient procedure.
•  Post-operative follow-up and any touch-ups: some clinics include follow-up consultations and post-operative care in their fees, while others bill them separately.

Reimbursement for breast augmentation with prostheses: how much is covered?

In the majority of cases, breast augmentation with prostheses is not covered by health insurance, and you will have to pay all the sums mentioned above. To this must be added the pre-anesthetic consultation (€70), the support bra (€60) and post-operative medication and dressings (around €100).

In the case of an axillary approach (scar in the armpit), physiotherapy sessions are often necessary (about 300 €).

The MOTIVA brand offers an optional insurance costing 200 € to be taken out in the month following your operation, which covers you up to 2500 € per breast in case of rupture or shell in the 5 years following the operation.

Cost of breast augmentation: how much time off work?

No sick leave is prescribed. You must therefore, if necessary, take between 3 to 5 days off. If you perform the operation on a Friday, it is perfectly possible to work again on Monday, unless you have a heavy workload.

In very rare cases, breast augmentation by prosthesis may be covered by the French health insurance scheme, after prior agreement with the Social Security doctor.
The pathologies concerned are total breast aplasia (breasts that do not fill an A cup), tuberous breasts, and major breast asymmetries.
