A new plastic surgery department in Paris

A new plastic surgery department has just opened at the Assistance Publique des Hôpitaux de Paris.Since January 5, 2012, Professor Lantieri's department, to which I belong, has moved to the Georges Pompidou European Hospital in Paris' 15th arrondissement.We now have access to one of Europe's most modern technical platforms for performing cutting-edge reconstructive surgery. The department has 10 conventional hospital beds, all in single rooms, as well as an outpatient surgery unit.

We are developing breast reconstruction, in particular autologous reconstruction using the DIEP free abdominal flap.

We will be continuing the face transplant program and hope to develop hand and upper limb transplants in collaboration with the hand surgery department, and larynx transplants with the ENT department.

I'm delighted to be part of this new adventure and to be able to offer patients quality care in a state-of-the-art facility.

I perform surgery there every Thursday and consult every Tuesday.
